We perform rigorous checks on everybody we employ and provide some of the most intensive training programmes in the care sector. This ensures a solid grounding for new staff passing our intensive induction process.
New inductees are paired with an experienced member of staff who take on the role of their personal peer champion. For the first six months of employment, we complete monthly supervisions which enable continual monitoring of performance.
We are in the incredibly advantageous position of enjoying a healthy recruitment position, this limits the need to use agency staff for absence and sickness by maintaining a ‘bank’ of additional personnel who have been fully trained to our own high standards.
Managers and Team Supervisors
Our service managers and team supervisors receive ongoing support and training through regular peer networking meetings and coaching and mentoring from senior managers and directors.
Routine operational tasks such as staff rotas and maintenance have been centralised to head office, allowing managers to concentrate on motivating their teams and ensuring service users are actively engaged in a range of stimulating activities.
Independence Homes has an on-call medical team who provide a valuable bridge between the services and medical professionals. In addition, they provide specialist training and ongoing support so that service users always have access to medical support.
We work with over thirteen different therapists who help provide holistic development and wellbeing. Therapies include psychology, physiotherapy, speech and language, nutrition, occupational, music, arts and sports.
